In old school time keeper enduros, it is actually possible to go faster than they want or expect. This is called burning a check.

70 hours since arriving to the hospital, and 63 hours since surgery being completed and I just got the news that I am headed home today! Surgery went to plan, and I have "recovered" much faster than what they typically experience I am told. So today, I go home. This is much welcomed news, as nights in the hospital are very mentally draining.

I will return for follow up appointments next week, and will be scheduled for a portal vein embolization the week of August 26th. This procedure is intended to allow the "good half" of my liver to grow larger and stronger over the weeks ahead. The ultimate plan will be to remove the "bad half" once the "good half" that they operated on this past week is ready.

I can't wait to get home!!!
