Sorry for the break in the action. I know people are looking here for updates, and I lost focus on this blog for a little while. Likely because I have been feeling pretty well, causing me to stay very busy, making me not sit down and write. I am now half way thorough my second round of chemo as I type this.
So, my chemo experience so far..... Bi-Weekly treatments....
Post infusion day 1. Feels like a grade 2 out of 10 hangover. Slightly less energy.
Post infusion day 2. Feels like a grade 5 out of 10 hangover. Slightly less energy. but this is also the day I ditch my man purse of the 5FU 46 hour drip, so cheers to that.
Post infusion day 3. Feels like a grade 2 out of 10 hangover. Slightly less energy.
Post infusion day 4-14. Feel very much normal. and better each passing day. Big constipation from the anti nausea meds.... lol. Then back to the cancer center... rinse and repeat.
My hands get cold and tingly really quickly with any exposure to cold. This is the main side effect that carries through from day to day.
I have been staying very active and busy. Able to do my normal 3 mile run and workout ever few days on day 4-14 (the good days). Race season is here, as is my businesses' beginning of the main selling season.
For the most part, I am completely able to do the "normal" things I do. Since I began chemo, I have been lucky enough to continue to do cool sh*t. This has been keeping me in a very positive state of mind.
I got to travel to Moab Utah, to help and spectate a race that my two close friends put on. While there, I was able to go for a 3 mile dirt bike ride with one of my best friends, Myles. The race weekend I was very busy helping mark the course, and catching up with friends from across the country I haven't seen since last season.
Last weekend, off to Ohio to help my friend Tilly with his year 1 start up race. Beautiful weather, weekend, and property. More catching up with friends.
This weekend, Battle of the Goats, in North Carolina.
This coming Monday at 7 am CST is Chemo, Round 3.
Rinse and repeat..... Rinse and Repeat

Get busy living or get busy dying.
