This week has been all about the "Route Sheet". When do we start? Where do we go? What is the plan? When do I need to be there? How many checkpoints? What is the total time and distance? Where is the gas stop?;)

After the last week of many diagnostic tests and minimal answers, other than those outlined in the previous blog, now we get answers. Monday we meet with the colon surgeon. Wednesday the oncologist. Thursday the liver surgeon. They will begin to lay out the plan of action, schedule the appointments, inform us of what the outlook will be, and answer the nagging questions that are keeping us up at night.

Here is the route sheet:

-March 29 - Port installation. This is where they administer chemo, draw blood, and generally poke me with needles. Apparently its both mandatory for chemo, and convenient for other common procedures I will be getting regularly like blood draws for labs, etc.

-April 2 - Chemo round 1. Part of my chemo will require a 46 hour infusion. So I will have a super sick fanny pack style going for two days.

-April 4 - Fanny pack pouch removal.

Rinse and repeat.

-2 week cycles, which means every two weeks I have another round of chemo.

-After 2-3 months of chemo cycles they will do more diagnostic scans.

-Plans for surgery on liver and colon will be updated based on scan results. This is when they go in and cut out parts of things, trying to remove as much of the cancer as possible. Liver may require 2 surgeries.

-2-3 more months of chemo on 2 week cycles

-Checkpoint 1 ...... Just gotta make a check!
